Vibe remain undefeated in SCWHL
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops played host to the Richmond Devils this weekend. The Vibe remain undefeated in the SCWHL and are tied with the Meadow Ridge Moose. Games scores of 1-1 and 5-0.
The Devils traveled to Kamloops Saturday and opened the scoring Saturday night at Mac Island Olympic with just over 2 minutes left in the first period. The Vibe answered back 6 minutes into period two. An unassisted crash the net goal by Jenna Ormondy. After back and forth play the game remained a 1-1 tie.
Sunday morning Kamloops came to play. Alyssa Reid opened the scoring in the first period from Gaylene Scott and Kiana Karolyi. Melinda Smith working hard in front of the net shoveled in goal number 2 in the 2nd period. Penalties were a factor with the Vibe taking 8 and Richmond 3 but a 5 minute major in the third by Richmond started a scoring frenzy. Sarah Botter from Emily Edmundson, Jaclyn Frilund from Emily Edmundson and the 5th goal by Marjorie Boisvert a tip in from Chantelle Beadman-Rolph.
Ashley Fisher was in goal for the Vibe for both games.
