REVELSTOKE, B.C. — RCMP in Revelstoke are looking for more witnesses as they gather evidence against a suspected erratic driver.

On Wednesday (Oct. 30) at about 4:00 p.m., RCMP received a report of a red BMW with an Alberta license plate east of the town on the Trans Canada Highway, unable to maintain its lane and speeding.

When responding officers caught up to the vehicle on Oak Drive, the driver passed two transport trucks unsafely and fled.

Later, the BMW was found at the Big Eddy Market in Revelstoke.

Officers arrested a man from Alberta as he was exiting the store. He is facing charges for a number of driving offences, along with possession of a controlled substance.

But officers are hoping to gather more witness statements before wrapping up the investigation.

In a news release, Cpl. Mike Esson says surveillance video from the store captured two men exiting the store and leaving in a white salvage truck. Esson says investigators would like to talk to those two men.

Anyone else with information on the incident is asked to contact Revelstoke RCMP at (250) 837-5255.
