Work underway to replace ‘temporary’ Lillooet bridge built 25 years ago
LILLOOET, B.C. — The province’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says work has begun to replace the Lillooet Station Bridge.
The bridge on Highway 99 over the Seton River connects the communities of Lillooet and the Cayoose Creek Indian Reserve.
According to a ministry news release, the single-lane structure will be replaced by a two-lane bridge.
Despite its 1994 installation, the existing bridge was meant to be a temporary structure to stand until a permanent one could be designed and built.
