Smillie to take over as Assistant Superintendent-Elementary

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops-Thompson School District 73 will have a new Assistant Superintendent- Elementary effective January 1st.

Trish Smillie was announced yesterday as the replacement for Rob Schoen, who is retiring at the end of December. Schoen has held the position since 2015.

Smillie joined the District in 2015 and is currently the Director of Elementary Education and Learning Services. Superintendent Alison Sidow says Smillie has proven herself as an experienced district leader. In the Board’s news release, Sidow says Smillie will be a terrific asset to the senior leadership team.

Aside from her other roles, Smillie also leads the Special Education, Aboriginal Education and International Education programs in the District. Prior to coming to Kamloops, she served in senior administrative positions in the Yukon.
