KAMLOOPS —-Two wins on home opening weekend has the Kamloops Vibe back in top stop in the SCWHL! Kamloops played the North Shore Rebels with scores of 3-1 and 4-1.
The weekend started off Saturday at Mac Island Olympic with no scoring in the first period. Seven minutes into the second period Catriona Young dished the puck to Jaclyn Frilund for goal #1. No scoring in the 2nd period. Five minutes into the 3rd period Rochelle Smith scores and Jenna Ormondy netted number 3 from Sarah Botter. With seconds left in the game North Shore scores to cancel the shut out for Ashley Fisher. Shots Vibe 22, Rebels 12.
Game 2 of the weekend was Sunday at Memorial Arena with 2 quick goals in the first period. First by Catriona Young from Jenna Ormondy & Melissa Brunn. A minute later, Rochelle Smith scores a beauty from Marjorie Boisvert and Melinda Smith. The Vibe started period 3 with 2 quick goals by Rochelle Smith from Jaclyn Frilund and Jenna Ormondy. 30 Seconds later Jaclyn Frilund finds the back of the net from rookie Sam Rogers and Jenna Ormondy. North Shore Rebels score 2 minutes later. Vibe out shoot Rebels 46-26.
Ashley Fisher in net for both games.
