KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops man is recovering from minor injuries after dislocating his knee and falling into a pit.

The incident happened on Whiteshield Place in Sahali around 10:30 on Wednesday morning. Employees of Mr. Rooter were working on a sewage line when the man dislocated his knee. According to Kamloops Fire Rescue, he had to make a decision between landing on a pile of asphalt or the pit. He chose the pit.

“When we got there, he didn’t fall in the hole. The man had dislocated his knee. He jumped in some soft sand. They had been doing some digging for a plumbing project,” said Kamloops Fire Rescue captain Troy Grant. “Fire crews arrived on scene. We put him in a basket, lifted him out of the ditch he was in, and waited for ambulance to arrive.”
