Dancing with the Stars Says Goodbye to Sailor

Sailor Brinkley-Cook shockingly became the fourth celebrity to leave Season 28 of Dancing with the Stars last night.

After performing a jive, which earned a 27/30 from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, Brinkley-Cook, 21, and her pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy ended up in the bottom two with fellow contestant Ally Brooke and pro partner Sasha Farber.

“Everybody is understandably upset right now,” co-host Tom Bergeron said before the judges had to decide who would remain in the competition.

Inaba was first to make the tough decision. “First of all, I’m shocked at this result right here that’s happening. I have to make a choice and Sailor, tonight, I really felt like you came into your own tonight and you had a wonderful performance, but the couple I want to save is Ally and Sasha. You’ve proven yourself over and over again,” she said.

Toniolis hared similar feelings as Inaba. “This really is incredible. It’s a position I wish I would never ever be in because both of you have been fantastic and inspiring,” said Tonioli. “But I have to base my decision on the past few weeks and because of that, I think the couple that has the edge are Ally and Sasha.”

Brinkley-Cook was crying too hard to say goodbye after learning her fate. Her partner Val said: “I’m so proud of her. She’s a star. This is just an appetizer to an incredible career and, more importantly, an incredible life.”

Model Christie Brinkley broke her arm during rehearsals and was replaced by her daughter Sailor before the show premiered. Pro football player Ray Lewis dropped out of DWTS due” to an injury, and The Supremes singer Mary Wilson and NBA star Lamar Odom were eliminated from the contest because of too few votes from the viewers and low scores from the judges.

Still in the running for the coveted mirror-ball trophy are Queer Eye star Karamo Brown; The Bachelorette alum Hannah Brown; country music singer Lauren Alaina; actor James Van Der Beek; The Office alum Kate Flannery; singer Ally Brooke; actor Kel Mitchell; and former White House press secretary Sean Spicer.
