KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire and Rescue crews made short work of a structure fire in the 600 block of Columbia Street this (Thursday) morning.
Crews were called out just after 4:00 a.m. to the single level home after flames and smoke were reported coming from the corner of the roof. Apparently the fire had gotten into part of the attic, but crews were able to attack it quickly and got it under control in less than half an hour.
No indication at this point as to what might have caused the blaze. Inspectors are on scene. It’s not believed there were any injuries.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says police are investigating to determine if the fire was suspicious.
