Chase fire crews battle late-night house fire

CHASE, B.C. — A home in Chase has been badly damaged after a fire last night (Oct. 16).

Chase Fire Department Chief Brian Lauzon says crews got the call to Beach Crescent just after 10:00 p.m.

“They arrived on scene, it was a fully involved structure fire,” explains Lauzon. “(It was a) two-storey, upper floor fully involved.”

Lauzon says crews acted quickly and were able to knock down the fire. The upper floor of the house is a total loss, but the bottom structure is still intact.

Lauzon says he’ll be conducting his investigation later today.
