Cariboo-Chilcotin woman lost her life in Wednesday crash near Cache Creek

KAMLOOPS — RCMP have confirmed a woman died in a crash east of Cache Creek Wednesday (Oct. 16).

According to a news release from Cpl. Mike Halskov of RCMP E-Division Traffic Services, the victim was a 23-year-old woman from the Cariboo-Chilcotin.

Halskov says the early investigation seems to indicate the woman was driving a vehicle westbound on the Trans Canada Highway near Juniper Beach when her vehicle crossed the centre line.

The vehicle collided head-on with a pickup truck.

Halskov says the driver of the pickup sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive.
