BC Wildlife Park showing thanks with free admission for Thanksgiving Monday

KAMLOOPS — The BC Wildlife Park is showing its thanks for park visitors Monday (Oct. 14), by offering free admission.

Thanks to TD Bank, the park won’t be charging any fees, but cash donations are still welcome, and will be split between the BC Wildlife Park and the United Way.

A number of events are on tap for Thanksgiving Monday at the park, including the 2nd annual Pie Baking Contest. The competition is a fundraiser to eventually buy an x-ray machine for the Fawcett Family Wildlife Health Centre.

• Exciting Animal Encounters –
  1. 10:00 am- Turtle Encounter
  2. 11:00 am – Bird of Prey Encounter
  3. 12:00 pm- Snake Encounter
  4. 1:00 pm- Turkey Talk
  5. 2:00 pm- Bearded Dragon Encounter
  6. 3:00 pm- Elk Talk
• 2nd Annual Pie Baking Contest – pies sold by the slice from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm
• Yarn/Ribbon Sale Fundraiser (cash only) 10:30 am to 3:30 pm – all proceeds will go towards purchasing educational supplies for the park’s Education Department
• Home Hardware Family Farm – 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
• Wildlife Rangers Pin Collectors Club – 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
• BBQ Special – Hot Dog & Hot Chocolate for $2.50 (cash only) 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
