Trans Canada likely closed until later this (Friday) morning.

KAMLOOPS — It looks like the Trans Canada Highway will be closed west of Tappen at least un til 10:00 AM this morning.

The highway was closed in both directions after a collision just after 6:00 AM. Latest indications are that officials hope to have the highway reopened by 10:00 AM, but only have moderate confidence that will take place.

In the meantime, there is a detour using Highway 97 and Highway 97A.

There is no indication yet as to the seriousness of the collision or what caused it. Check the Drive B.C. website for updates.
