Sydor taking personal leave of absence from behind Blazers bench

KAMLOOPS — The Blazers won’t have Associate Coach Darryl Sydor on this two-game road trip and beyond.

The team announced on Friday afternoon in a statement that Sydor has taken a personal leave of absence from the team.

Blazers GM Matt Bardsley says the team isn’t commenting any further on the situation. He can’t say whether the leave of absence is short-term or long-term.

There will be a rotation of coaches on the bench, as there usually is, with Dan de Palma, Aaron Keller, and Chris Murray helping fill Sydor’s void.
