KAMLOOPS — TRU has announced its largest-ever fundraising campaign.

The university set out a goal to raise $50 million by December 2020 to go toward four goals — supporting students, innovating for the future, building capacity, and collaborating with the community.

In a news release, the university says $41 million has been raised during the “quiet phase” of the “Limitless” campaign.

“The power of education to change lives is limitless,” TRU president Brett Fairbairn says in the release. “Education empowers our students on their way to greater futures, opens new worlds through research and builds better communities.”

Fairbairn launched the public phase of the campaign Thursday evening (Oct. 10) to a crowd in the Brown Family House of Learning.

Through the campaign, the university is hoping to establish more bursaries and scholarships, provide funding for more research initiatives, and establish better spaces on campus.
