Train hits vehicle near Salmon Arm

SALMON ARM, B.C. — RCMP and CP Rail are confirming a train hit a vehicle near Salmon Arm Monday.

A CP spokesperson says a freight train “made contact” with a vehicle at the 50th Street NE crossing in Canoe around 8:20 a.m. Sunday.

“There were no injuries to the crew. CP Police and RCMP are investigating the incident,” said Salem Woodrow from CP Rail media relations.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Scott West said the driver of the car fled the scene.
