CN investigating train derailment near Ashcroft

ASHCROFT, B.C. — CN is investigating after a train derailment near Ashcroft.

In an email statement, CN says crews responded to an incident near Ashcroft on Friday involving 14 rail cars carrying intermodal containers.

The platform cars derailed upright after a rockslide.

According to CN, there were no fires or injuries, and no dangerous goods were involved.

“No cars or containers entered the river and there was no spill of any content,” the statement says. “Train movements resumed at approximately 5:15 p.m. local time on Saturday.”
