Central Scouting lists three Blazers to watch leading up to the NHL Draft
KAMLOOPS — Three Kamloops Blazers have made the NHL’s 2019-20 Preliminary Players to Watch List. Forwards Connor Zary and Josh Pillar and goaltender Dylan Garand are all players that the league predicts will get closer looks this season.
The 18-year-old Zary is tied for second in Western Hockey League scoring with teammate Orrin Centazzo with 10 points. Seventeen-year-old Pillar has a goal and two assists in seven games this season. In six games, Garand has a 2.69 GAA and .909 SV%.
Zary is a B-list player, which indicates he is a potential second or third round selection. Prior to the season, Zary was ranked 18th by TSN’s Craig Button, who predicts the Saskatoon native will be a first-rounder.
Pillar and Garand are C-list players, meaning they are projected to go anywhere from the fourth to sixth rounds.
