Red Bridge in Kamloops to be closed nightly for inspection work

KAMLOOPS — Drivers headed across the South Thompson River in Kamloops will need an alternate route starting tomorrow, as nightly closures begin for the Red Bridge.

The Ministry of Transportation says nightly closures for routine inspections will take place between 7:30 p.m and 6 a.m this week, and for several evenings throughout the rest of October.

The Ministry says the shut downs are part of regular inspections on the historic bridge to make sure it’s in solid condition.

The planned closures are set for Oct. 7-11, Oct. 13-18, and Oct. 20-25, but there may be adjustments made. (Check Drive BC for up to date information around closures)
