Vehicle incident closes section of Highway 5 north of Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: 1:50 PM: The road is now open to traffic and the incident scene is clear.

UPDATE 1:20 PM: According to an update from Drive BC, the highway is now open to single lane alternating traffic, but drivers should still expect delays.

A section of Highway 5 north near Kamloops has been shut down, following a motor vehicle incident.

According to Drive BC, the incident took place just north of the CN Junction Road in the Kamloops area.

Both of the northbound lanes, and the one fast lane headed southbound are closed while crews work to clear the scene.

An estimated time of opening is not yet available, but Drive BC’s updates can be accessed here.
