KAMLOOPS — The ballot is set for the upcoming federal election.

Monday was the deadline for candidates to submit their nomination paperwork, and Elections Canada published confirmed candidate lists on its website today.

There were no last-minute nominations in Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo, where there will be seven candidates seeking to become MP, including incumbent Cathy McLeod.

CFJC Today is watching four neighbouring ridings as well.

They are Cariboo-Prince George, which encompasses Williams Lake; Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola, which includes Merritt and Logan Lake; North Okanagan-Shuswap, which includes Salmon Arm and Vernon; and Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon, which stretches up to Cache Creek and Lillooet.

Cariboo-Prince George, Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola and Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon will each have six candidates on the ballot, while North Okanagan-Shuswap voters will choose between five.

In each riding, the incumbent is running for re-election.

Advance voting is set for October 11 to 14.

General election day is Monday, October 21.
