Coquihalla Highway snowfall expected to taper off today
MERRITT — A special weather statement is still in effect for the Coquihalla Highway as of this morning (Sept. 28).
Drivers taking the Coquihalla from Kamloops to Merritt, Kelowna to Merritt, and Hope to Merritt are asked to drive carefully.
Earlier this morning, a vehicle incident closed the highway heading northbound at Exit 231: Mine Creek Road, but lanes have since reopened.
Environment Canada says 5 to 10 centimetres of snow accumulated last night, and an additional 2 to 5 centimetres are expected to come down today for the Coquihalla Highway, Allison Pass, and Pennask Summit.
