Before the first was over Kelowna tied it on a goal by Dillon Hamaliuk.

There was no scoring in a lacklustre second period that had shots of 8-5 for the Blazers and few grade A scoring chances.

But it wasn’t until with six-and-a-half minutes left that the tie was broken.

Hughes converted on a pass from behind the net by Franklin on the power play for his second goal of the season, and first with the Blazers.

Less than two minutes later and seven seconds into a power play, Kelowna tied it with Kyle Topping scoring.

Nothing was settled in regulation time , so it went to overtime.

There, on a 4-on-3 power play Ryan Hughes scored at 2:42 from Centazzo and Franklin.

Hughes, who also scored an overtime winner in his last game with Saskatoon last week, pulled off some more magic in his Blazers debut.
