Music News with Jessie J, Zedd and Lizzo
JESSIE J DEBUTS LOVE SONG ABOUT CHANNING TATUM: Jessie J performed at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Sunday, where she debuted a sweet new song about her boyfriend, Channing Tatum. “Let’s be still, just stay calm, so we’re not rushing what we are / Pressure on, just have fun / It’s not a race, no need to run / If it’s forever / Let’s just simply be in love,” the romantic lyrics read. The couple began dating late 2018, but didn’t make their love public until earlier this year after they were photographed holding hands in London.
ZEDD REVEALS NEW COLLAB WITH KEHLANI CALLED ‘GOOD THING’: Zedd’s dropping new music this Friday, “Good Thing,” which features R&B singer Kehlani. No word on if it’s a stand alone, or a single from a larger project. It’ll be Zedd’s second release of 2019, following his collabo with Katy Perry, “365.” He also co-wrote and produced Katy’s hit “Never Really Over.” Zedd’s currently out on his Orbit world tour, which hits Texas this week, and wraps up in Minneapolis on October 12th.
LIZZO TEAMS UP WITH K-POP BOY BAND AB6IX ON ‘TRUTH HURTS’ REMIX: Lizzo has teamed with K-pop boy band AB6IX to revamp her chart-topping “Truth Hurts.” Dropped late Monday night, Lizzo and AB6IX’s “Truth Hurts” was announced only a few hours prior to its release when the quintet posted on social media that they had collaborated with the record-breaking star. The new variant, which follows several other remixed versions of what has become the longest-running Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 by a solo female rapper ever, features the members of AB6IX throwing in a few Korean verses about how they’re on the rise regardless of what others are saying, letting everyone know to anticipate them. “Truth Hurts” is AB6IX’s second single following their debut song “Breathe” in May, and precedes the release of the boy band’s first LP [6IXENSE] on October 7th.
