KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: Dallas Elementary has been given the all clear after a threat this morning.

According to a notice posted by Dallas Elementary principal Grant Reilly, when arriving at school this morning, staff noticed the building had been graffiti-tagged with a threat.

“Safety of our students is our highest priority and SD73 takes this incident very seriously,” Reilly says. “The RCMP were called to the school and inspected the school and its perimeter and have ascertained that the threat is not credible.”

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000.

“Every threat made on a school, whether as a social media post or graffiti tag on a wall, is taken very seriously,” Reilly says.

EARLIER: Police are responding to Dallas Elementary this morning.

School District 73 and Kamloops RCMP have not provided any details on the incident.

According to parents at the scene, students are being redirected to the sports field for now.
