Nine companies have applied for B.C. ride-hailing licenses, six targeting Kamloops area

KAMLOOPS — UBER and Lyft may be ignoring the B.C. Interior, but there is no shortage of companies looking to provide ride-hailing services here.

According to the most recent data provided by the Passenger Transportation Board (PTB), nine companies have applied to offer ride-hailing in various parts of B.C.

Of those nine, six have included the Kamloops area in their applications.

Those are Vancouver-based Kabu and Calgary-based InOrbis.

They join Kater, Lucky to Go, TAPPCAR and Uride in bidding to operate in the Kamloops region.
