KAMLOOPS — A youth is in custody after a threatening post on SnapChat toward Kamloops Christian School.

Police say the post showed a youth holding two pistols with a threatening caption toward the school.

As a result, Kamloops Christian School is closed today in an “abundance of caution”, according to Kamloops RCMP.

Police say they received a tip from Interpol regarding the post.

“We are confident that we have the author of the threat in custody, and that there are no risks to the school staff or students at this time,” said Staff Sgt. Mat Van Laer.

Police say because of the age of the alleged offender, no more details about this particular investigation have been released.

“These threats to schools are very demanding on police resources and are taken very seriously. They also disrupt students, staff and parents. Anyone caught making such threats can be facing very serious consequences,” Van Laer said.
