Open burning bans to be lifted in Kamloops Fire Centre

KAMLOOPS — After a relatively uneventful wildfire season in the Kamloops Fire Centre, open burning prohibitions will be lifted in the region.
Effective noon tomorrow (Sept. 18), Category 2 and Category 3 open fires will be permitted throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre jurisdiction due to a decreased wildfire risk.
Use of the following equipment and activities will also be allowed:
- Fireworks, including firecrackers
- Sky lanterns
- Burn barrels or burn cages of any size or description
- Binary exploding targets
- Tiki and similar kind of torches
