PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — The BC SPCA is asking for the public to come forward with any information on who might have shot and killed three dogs in Prince George, leaving their bodies in a ditch.
In a news release, the SPCA says the small adult dogs were found on Sept. 16 near the intersection of Damms Road and Willow Cale Road in the city.
Officers recovered the bodies of a black, male French bulldog, a fawn-coloured female pug, and a black and tan female miniature pincher.
All three animals appear to have died from gunshot wounds to the head. The SPCA has sent the bodies for forensic pathology to find out more details.
“The dogs appeared to be in good condition and well-cared for, so it is confusing that they would have been killed in such a disturbing manner,” says Dr. Teresa Cook, the BC SPCA’s regional manager of cruelty investigations for northern B.C. “We urge anyone who many know these dogs, or who has any information about the incident to please call the BC SPCA’s provincial call centre at 1 (856) 622-7722.”
