KAMLOOPS — The two people seriously injured in a crash north of Kamloops Friday (Sept. 13) have been identified as Mormon missionaries.

According to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), the two are Bryant Keck and Dallin Thompson, both aged 19.

Keck is originally from Sanford, Colorado, but his Facebook page states he moved to Kamloops on August 21 of this year. Thompson is originally from Sahuarita, Arizona.

In a news release issued Saturday, Kamloops RCMP said a northbound pickup on Highway 5 North hit an SUV that had entered the road from the Old Highway 5 junction.

The two teens were in the SUV. The occupants of the pickup were not hurt.

“[The two] are both in critical condition with injuries that may be life-threatening,” stated a news release from LDS spokesman Daniel Woodruff. “The condition of the occupants of the truck is unknown, and we pray for their well-being. We also pray for both missionaries and their families, and we ask for the faith and prayers of others on their behalf as they navigate the difficult days ahead.”
