BC Prosecution Service to determine if charges will be laid in connection to Elephant Hill fire
ASHCROFT, B.C. — UPDATE: The BC Prosecution service tells CFJC Today in an email that it has received a report to Crown counsel for charge assessment in the case.
There’s no timeline at this point for how long the assessment may take.
“The BC Prosecution Service makes every effort to provide as timely a charging decision as possible in all cases,” the service says in an email. “The amount of time required to complete the charge assessment process in any particular case is determined largely by the volume and complexity of the file materials received and the complexity of the issues that arise from the charges under consideration.”
