Last 24 hours of showers brings Kamloops closer to normal September rainfall levels
KAMLOOPS — While summer doesn’t transition to autumn until September 23 this year, cooler temperatures and recent rainfall have given Kamloops a slightly early taste of fall.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Mike Gismondi says in the last 24 hours, Kamloops has seen about one-third of the rainfall amount the area usually gets for September.
“Had quite a dousing over the last 24 hours, of almost 9 mm. And so far this month we’ve had about 10.5 mm, so most of the rain came from the last 24 hours,” He explains, “The normal for the month is about 29.4 mm for a typical September. So you’re basically in the ballpark, if things keep on going like they are now, to end up at a near normal September.”
Gismondi says the rest of today (Sept. 15) should be mostly cloudy with a sprinkling of rain.
