BC Wildfire crews responding to blaze south of Merritt

MERRITT, B.C. — BC Wildfire crews are attending a wildfire that has popped up south of Merritt.
In a tweet, the provincial fire service says the blaze is near Shovelnose Mountain, 30 kilometres south of Merritt and east of Highway 5.
The fire is three hectares and burning out of control among heavy timber fuels.
Twenty members of the BC Wildfire Service are responding with air tanker assistance.
