Lang joining Hurricanes at prospects tournament in Nashville

KAMLOOPS — Blazers import Martin Lang jetted off to Nashville on Thursday to take part in a prospects tournament for the Carolina Hurricanes.

The tournament starts on Saturday and runs until Tuesday with Carolina facing off against prospects from Washington, Tampa Bay, and Nashville.

Lang will be joined by former Blazer Garrett Pilon who’s property of the Capitals. Pilon played his first season in the American Hockey League with Washington’s affiliate in Hershey.

Lang is expected to be gone for at least the next week before returning to the team in time for the regular season opener on September 20 at home against Spokane.

In his first year in Kamloops, Lang quietly scored 11 goals and added 22 assists in 65 games before tallying a goal in three assists in the playoffs.
