Kamloops RCMP urging caution on the roads with school back in session
KAMLOOPS — With all those kids heading back to class this week, it’s important to remember to slow down around schools across the city.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie is reminding drivers that school zones are back in effect. Drivers in those schools zones need to make sure they slow down to 30 kilometers an hour. That might mean being proactive in planning their commutes to and from work.
“It’s important for drivers to really think about their schedules and their routes to work,” Shelkie told CFJC Today. “If their route to work takes them through a school zone, then they need to take that into consideration, and they need to slow down.”
