KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire and Rescue crews made quick work of a vehicle fire up on Rose Hill Road last night (August 29).

Platoon Captain Daryl Cooper says the fire was reported around 10:00 PM last night (Thursday). Bush trucks, an engine and water tender responded.

The report came in initially as a vehicle fire, but by the time crews arrived, the fire had spread into the nearby grass and trees, although Cooper said they were able to get it out fairly quickly.

He said initial concern was that there was someone inside the vehicle, but that didn’t turn out to be the case. He says the vehicle was about 20 feet off the roadway, and considering where it was, they’re treating it as “suspicious” at this point in time.
