Lindgren impressing Blazers, will suit up for first WHL game this weekend
KAMLOOPS — It doesn’t take long to see that Mats Lindgren has wheels. The speedy 5’8″, 155-pound defenseman has show in training camp that with his speed, he’s ready for the Western Hockey League, even at 15 years old.
“Very impressive skater. World-class skater for his age group,” said Blazers head coach Shaun Clouston. “Great agility, plays with his head up, can distribute the puck real well. We’re super excited about his future. It’s great to see him on the ice with the older guys. He fits right in, and at a real young age he can get up and down the ice with these guys no problem.”
Lindgren added, “I would say my skating’s my strength probably, using it to make plays all over the ice, offensively and defensively.”
