Thompson-Nicola Regional Library hires first-ever Writer in Residence
KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional Library (TNRL) has appointed its first-ever Writer in Residence. Deryn Collier will serve in the role from September 16 to December 15.
Collier’s time will be split between working on her own writing projects and assisting others with their writing.
The McGill University alumnus is a mystery writer, and her works include Confined Space and Open Secret, both novels set in the Kootenay region.
In a news release, the TNRL says the Writer in Residence program is ” designed to encourage the development of the written arts in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD), connect readers and writers, and provide the Writer with time, space, and resources to work on their own writing projects.”
