JOHN TRAVOLTA TALKS NUTTY FANS: John Travolta is pretty tolerant toward nuttier extremes of fan behavior. He tells Variety: “I’ve only had two people that actually invaded my house. They were just people that wanted to meet me. I was scared the first time,” he admitted of his unexpected guest. “The second time there was such a gentle presence that came to the family dinner that I was just like: ‘Who are you? What are you doing here?’ But I’ve never had a problem with fans.”
NBC DEVELOPING TV SPIN-OFF OF SERENDIPITY: Miramax Television is working on a spin-off of the 2001 John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale rom-com Serendipity. The story will follow a couple, Harry and Clare, who fall in love over one night and are separated by circumstances. The series will join a televised spinoff of the 1985 Brat Pack film St. Elmo’s Fire.
MICHAEL SHANNON JOINS LAKERS PROJECT: Michael Shannon has been cast as the self-made millionaire and former Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss in HBO‘s The Untitled Showtime Lakers Project pilot, based on the Jeff Pearlman book Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s.
ANDREW KOJI JOINS GI JOE: Andrew Koji has signed on to play special mercenary / ninja commando Storm Shadow in Paramount‘s GI Joe: Snake Eyes. He joins Henry Golding, who is playing Joe. Robert Schwentke is directing.
