BLIND BAY, B.C. — RCMP have issued a ticket after another crash at a notorious highway intersection in the Shuswap.

On Thursday (Aug. 22) at about 12:45 a truck crossed the Trans Canada Highway at Balmoral Road south of Blind Bay and was hit by an eastbound Honda.

Two people in the truck were treated for minor injuries, while the car’s driver was taken to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops with neck and back injuries.

Salmon Arm RCMP ticketed the driver of the truck for failing to yield.

In a news release, Staff Sgt. Scott West notes this is the second injury collision at this intersection in as many weeks, and urges drivers to be cautious there.

Earlier this summer, the province issued a call for public input on changes to the busy and collision-prone crossing.
