Large police presence in Westsyde Tuesday triggered by weapons call; suspicious vehicle not located

KAMLOOPS — Despite an extensive patrol of the area, police were unable to locate a suspicious vehicle where an occupant may have had a gun.
In a news release, Kamloops RCMP say at roughly 6:45 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 20), police received a report of a suspicious vehicle, where an occupant may have had a firearm on them.
Police conducted extensive patrols in the area and located a vehicle nearby that roughly matched the description.
However, police say, further investigation revealed the vehicle located was not involved.
