KAMLOOPS — Riverside Park will be the site of a family-friendly movie night to support the Canadian Mental Health Association.

The Moonlight Movie Night starts tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.

People can come to the park and enjoy the movie “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World”.

It’s a free event with a suggested donation of $3 per person.

That money will support the work of the Canadian Mental Health Association in Kamloops.

“We’re really excited to be a part of a family friendly event, really to help encourage folks to have conversations around mental wellness both at home and as we go back to school in the next couple of weeks to talk about this in our school system as well,” said CMHA Kamloops Executive Director Christa Mullaly.

Interior Savings has been hosting the event in various communities since 2008 and has raise around $144,000 for youth and mental health organizations.

On average, around 10,000 people attend the movie nights, which also include other fun activities.

“We’re going to have our Great Money Challenge tent, there’s going to be Plinko boards, bouncy castles, we’re going to have bean bag tosses, obviously popcorn is going to be going, so it’s going to be a very fun event for everyone,” said Larry Chastko, AVP of Retail Operations for Interior Savings.
