KAMLOOPS — The federal government is pumping more than half-a-million dollars into the Kamloops Airport.
In a news release, Minister of Transport Marc Garneau says Ottawa will invest $555,900 to build a new shelter at the airport for two aircraft rescue firefighting vehicles.
Garneau says the project will include the renovation and expansion of the existing shelter. A second aviation firefighting vehicle was earmarked for the airport last month.
“Keeping emergency response vehicles free of ice and snow is key to ensuring safe airport operations for aircraft, passengers, and crews,” states the release.
