Province putting out call for licenced producers ahead of edibles legalization
VICTORIA — The provincial government is putting out a call for licensed cannabis producers to participate in a call for new products due to be legalized later this year.
In a news release, the province says the product call is an opportunity for licenced producers to explain their interest and ability in supplying the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) with edibles, beverages, topicals and extracts.
Selected products will be available in both licenced and government-run cannabis stores.
“This product call marks an exciting time for the LDB as we work toward introducing new product categories into B.C.’s legal cannabis market,” said Blain Lawson, general manager and CEO of the LDB. “We are currently working with over 30 licensed producers and look forward to engaging with new suppliers to expand our wholesale product assortment.”
