Downtown Kamloops business association wants more surveillance, security
KAMLOOPS — The KCBIA is asking for proposals to find options that will provide businesses located within the business district with capacity to provide adequate camera coverage.
KCBIA executive director Carl DeSantis says in a news release that the association is hoping to support safety and social issues through the area — including exploring technological options to deter criminal and inappropriate behaviours, in the hopes of more accountability.
At this point it’s not clear how many downtown businesses will participate in the initiative, but all information provided by the successful vendor will be shared with the members of the KCBIA.
On behalf of the membership, the KCBIA is looking to identify organizations prepared to provide estimates for all equipment and labour required to install security camera systems.
