TAYLOR SWIFT SENDS FAN OVER $6,000 TO PAY COLLEGE TUITION DEBT: Taylor Swift sent a Canadian fan named Ayesha over $6,000 to pay off her college tuition debt. Ayesha had posted on her Tumblr that she was struggling to pay for tuition for the semester and Taylor saw the post. She explained that both her parents work minimum wage jobs and her mom struggles from chronic kidney disease. The family’s loans were not enough to take care of Ayesha’s college tuition and rent for the upcoming semester. “i posted about struggling with paying for tuition. two hours later, i get this in my email. i have no words and i can’t stop crying. i don’t have words i don’t have words i don’t have words i can’t stop crying,” Ayesha wrote on her Instagram.
ALANIS MORISSETTE WELCOMES THIRD CHILD, SON WINTER MERCY: Alanis Morissette has welcomed her third child with husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway. The 45-year-old singer announced the news on Instagram Monday, along with a black-and-white photo of the sleeping baby boy. “He’s here. Winter Mercy Morissette-Treadway. #8/8/19,” she captioned it, along with the hashtag “#mywholelifeidreamedoflovingyouthree.” Treadway shared the same photo on his own Instagram page, sharing that Winter was born at home, like the couple’s other two children. “@alanis You will forever be my heroine. thank you for your warrior strength and ability to so deeply love,” he wrote. They are also parents to eight-and-a-half-year-old son Ever Imre and three-year-old daughter Onyx Solace.
LEWIS CAPALDI’S ‘SOMEONE YOU LOVED’ CERTIFIED PLATINUM: Lewis Capaldi’s breakthrough single “Someone You Loved” has been certified platinum in the U.S. – just one of eight countries where it’s achieved that milestone. The song – from the singer/songwriter’s debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent – has also reached the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 after spending seven weeks at No. 1 on the U.K. chart. A new stripped-down version of “Someone You Loved” is now available on YouTube. At the end of this month, Lewis will open for Ed Sheeran on the two final dates of Ed’s global Divide tour, in Ed’s hometown of Ipswich, England. Lewis is set to kick off his own North American fall tour September 17th in Dallas. His March 2020 tour of the U.K. and Ireland sold out in seconds.
LAUREN JAUREGUI SAYS DEBUT SOLO ALBUM IS COMING IN 2020: Lauren Jauregui fans will have to wait just a bit longer for the singer’s debut solo album. The former Fifth Harmony member told Billboard on the Teen Choice Awards red carpet that her album won’t be coming out this year, but is targeted for a 2020 release. “I got you guys, I promise,” she said. Lauren’s debut solo single “Expectations” came out last October, followed by the song “More Than That” in January. Lauren snagged the Choice Song: Female Artist award for “Expectations” at the Teen Choice Awards, beating out Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Halsey and Billie Eilish.
