Severe thunderstorm watch in place for South Thompson & Coquihalla section

KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the South Thompson area, and a section of the Coquihalla highway this morning (Aug. 10).
Conditions are ripe for severe thunderstorms to develop this afternoon and evening, which could bring lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rain.
Sudden changes in weather can bring dangerous driving conditions, so drivers are cautioned to take extra care when headed out on the Coquihalla from Merritt to Kamloops.
