Kamloops heat wave is at its end
KAMLOOPS — Although Kamloops experienced the first real heat wave of the summer this week — it won’t last much longer.
Environment Canada forecaster Matt MacDonald says there’s been a ridge of high pressure all week that’s allowed a hot air mass to come up from the desert United States.
“We’ve consistently been seeing highs of 36, 37 even 38 degrees in some places,” MacDonald says. “Kamloops yesterday got up to 36.1 C — flirting with a record — so today marks a transition to a cooler but unsettled air mass for the next few days here.”
