Kamloops Dragon Boat Festival drumming up excitement along South Thompson River

KAMLOOPS — A chance of rain won’t deter dragon boaters gathering for the Kamloops Dragon Boat Festival this weekend.

25 teams from around B.C. will join the three Kamloops teams along the South Thompson River tomorrow (Aug. 10).

Kamloops Extreme, Kamloops Interior Dragons, and the Spirit Warriors will represent the Tournament Capital.

The 500-metre races feature 24-person teams on each boat, with a variety of ages and abilities. Given the quick pace of the races, the free event promises to be entertaining for anyone watching.
