Update: Power restored for over 1,400 in Barnhartvale area

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE 9:20 AM: As per BC Hydro, power is restored to the Barnhartvale area impacted earlier this morning. Hydro says the outage was caused by a bird contacting the wires.

PREVIOUS: The power is out this morning (Aug. 8) for 1,427 BC Hydro customers in the Kamloops area.

According to an update from BC Hydro, the outage in the Barnhartvale area spreads from east of Scott Road, to south of Shuswap Road.

No cause has been listed as of yet, and crews are on site working to repair the issue.
