Adams Lake man facing charges after assault on ferry

ADAMS LAKE, B.C. — A man has been charged with assault with a weapon after an incident on the Adams Lake Ferry on Friday.

On Aug. 2 at 2:00 p.m., Chase RCMP responded to a report of an assault on the Adams Lake Ferry.

Police say in a news release that they attended and determined that prior to getting off the ferry, a man threatened the operator.

The man allegedly brandished a knife as he approached the operator, then tossed the knife aside before allegedly assaulting the operator.

Police later located and arrested local 36-year-old Steven Christopher Long. He’s been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats and driving while disqualified.
